Intensive Ceramic Wheel course - 12 Hours
Ceramic course structure
This course lasts one month and takes place once a week for three hours each day. All materials such as clay, glazes and firing are included in the price.
Introduction to the ceramic wheel and centering
In this first part we'll focus on centering the clay on the wheel, a very important stage in shaping our pieces. This phase is about connecting with the flow of the wheel and how the clay can flow through it.
Shaping techniques
In this part we will learn how to shape the clay on the wheel to make cups, bowls, plates and to make cylinders for mini vases.
Shape finishing
At this point we'll learn how to shape and finish our pieces with tools. We'll cut off feet, remove caly excess and improve the shape of our pieces. Here we can give textures and add lines to our pieces.
After this, the first firing takes place at 800 °C.
Glazing
In this stage we will learn how to glaze our pieces and also how to try out engobes. After that we do our last firing at 1240 °C and so we have our first ceramic pieces ready.
